SGRO’ TINA

Born in 1972 in Reggio Calabria. She graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in her city and since 2003 she took part into solo and group exhibitions in Italy. She participated to important national contests, among which Premio Morlotti (finalist in 2000), Premio Arte Mondadori (winner in 2006) and Premio Arte Laguna (finalist in 2011 and 2013).

As a whole and coherent artist, Tina Sgrò identifies herself with her ambiences, which are built through soft and swift brush strokes, packed with tiny details deriving from a past reality and legitimated through subdued and chalky light, which fills each scratch and becomes architecture. She lives and works in Reggio Calabria
