Lorenzo Mariani – aka L'orMa – is one of the most well-known artists of his generation. He works with different expressive techniques, from installation to ceramic, to manual interventions on natural elements. During the last few years, one of his favorite techniques has been paper with which he creates innovative and refined sculptures. Unique artworks made with extreme perfection challenging the limits of the material itself. The main theme in his artworks is the inexorable evolution of progress, a topic that he shows to the viewer not as a denunciation, but rather as a reflection.

He was born in Milan in 1985. In 2007 he graduated with honors from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and became assistant to the famous artistic duo Vedovamazzei. He soon entered the contemporary art scene by exhibiting his works at art galleries and public and private institutions. He has won prestigious art competitions, including: the VAF Foundation Award (2022), the ArteamCup (2016), the Euromobil Under 30 Prize during Arte Fiera Bologna (2016), the Cascella Prize and the Novara Prize (2011). In 2011 Regione Lombardia commissioned him a sculpture for Expo 2015, which is still visible today at its headquarters. He regularly takes part in national and international art fairs. He lives and works in Milan.
